One of the many beauties of body art is how it can help a person cope with something they’re going through. Whether it’s depression or overcoming a hardship, tattoos have served as a healing method of sorts for countless numbers of people.
Human trafficking remains a major problem throughout the world including the United States and it affects people of every age. A new Georgia-based organization is now doing its part to help those who have survived cover up their painful past. Called Atlanta Redemption Ink, the organization collaborates with tattoo artists to cover the scars and tattoos of victims that have suffered abuse, trauma, or exploitation. The organization was founded by a woman who overcame not only human trafficking but also drug addiction.
In terms of cost, human trafficking survivors don’t need to worry about having to pay the costs to have their scars covered up. Thanks to donations and the kind hearts of tattoo artists willing to donate their time and talent, Atlanta Redemption Ink can offer these services at no cost.
