When you’re about to get a tattoo for the first time, the emotions and anxiety will likely run high. You’ve probably been told how painful it is (it depends) which may make you even more anxious. These tips should help you prepare for the big day.
Eat right and consider snacks. Depending on how elaborate your tattoo is, it can take several hours for the work to get done. Having a good meal will give you the energy to patiently sit there and endure the process. Bringing along some snacks might help too. You may also want to wear something comfortable.
Bring some tunes along. If you’re the squeamish type, listening to music may help ease your worries. Instead of focusing on the needle and the pain, you can distract yourself with the musical stylings of your favorite artist. Plus, you may not like the music being played at the tattoo parlor.
Make sure to bathe. Tattoo artists often have to ink some highly intimate parts of the body. Do your artist a favor and make sure you’re clean so that the artist isn’t forced to endure an unpleasant or potentially embarrassing situation due to your lack of proper hygiene.
